It's clear that Jones didn't mean the heavily qualified apology that he gave. His words are as empty as the apology he issued after advocating the murder of the PM by drowning her at sea in a hessian sack. Former Liberal Party staffer Peter Van Onselen on Sky News today said that he was aware of a function at which Jones signed a hessian sack for one of his nutjob followers who wanted a commemoration of Jones' previous comments. As a Labor supporter I'm very pleased with the aggressively personal tactics being adopted by conservatives. They've already blown much of their lead in the polls by aggressively pursuing the Slater and Gordon non issue against Gillard. I wonder if they'll be foolish enough to continue them until election day.
