Personally I think that not only are Ayn Rands thoughts controversial, but rather out of date
She was born in a very different time and place - Russia, 1905.
She was a writer and philosopher who went to America. She ended up in Hollywood eventually selling screenplays after working in wardrobe work whilst leading up to selling the screenplays.
From what I’ve read about economists views on her economics opinions, she’s got simple and vanilla ideas with undeveloped thinking and only has things partially correct.
I’d more trust her opinion on how to make a living in Hollywood as a newbie.
I’d judge that she had a different life though - not the average 9 to 5 office job or factory worker. Probably worth the trip
