I didn't get it as I earned too much last year. But I am sure that for those recipients on low incomes it was gratefully received and provided the ability to buy a few luxuries.
Regarding your last comment about enjoying watching people being raked over the coals in the coming years. Many people who lose their jobs will be forced to sell their home and for many the loss of their jobs will also mean the loss of self-respect from an inability so support their families. Personally, I think these people need our support.
