Agree that in broad terms, the ASX follows the DJIA.
However when it comes to personal,ie: individual investment, it is just a matter of finding the right stocks. Even in a bear market there are always individual stocks that continue to grow and provide good returns.
It is a matter of fundamental top-down research.
