there is always someone whether a private citizen out of curiousity or greed or a govt agency that will poke around
dont think that because you think you have nothing to hide that you are immune to any govt interference.
remember when the tax file number came into existance? the govt fed us the line that NO other organisation or govt agency will have access to the information contained in the database. this has since proved to be a blatant lie.
every govt agency can now cross check and cross reference information. even the electoral office double checks at leats 30 other govt databases.
remember when the medicare card came out? it had no magnetic strip on it.
as for nothing to hide....i challenge you to p[rove that you have not broken any law or have something you would rather not divulge.
the tax laws are so onerous that there would not be one person in oz who would not be guilty of at least one breach thereby making him a target for future legal action.
