In my view, the likely contenders are those who stand to get the most advantage out of it. And that would be the Asian hedge funds who have been actively shorting lynas, plus interests associated with molycorp ( who would love to see lynas delayed to pick off some of its contracts). I recall in the lynas malaysia press conference a month back, they were making strong hints that they thought molycorp was behind it.
