Topdad, sorry for the delay, i had to go to a meeting, yes those clips gave it away the first timeI saw them, it was basically showing the mach 5/50 effect, the faster they fired and once they reached a threshold when other rounds that had been fired were still in the same barrel then the faster those projectiles travelled, they increased in velocity dramatically, simplty because of the recompression of gasses caused by anoother round firing before the one in front had left! they talk about metalstorm weapons being scaleable from non lethal to lethal, in that case I believe they are talking about the fact that you can have one type of round in one barrel say non lethal and in the same weapon in another barrel you can have lethal.

There is another aspect of scaleable though, and that is renge, if you fire low pressure then the range is fairly small, if you fire medium pressure, then the range increases, and if you fire high pressure then the range increases dramatically, in fact it is up to four times better than the range of existing weapons of the same calibre, the US is building a rail gun that does similar, but it will be many hundreds of times dearer for not much better range and velocity.
