Errrr..... discussion is good, chest beating less so .... but ... if no one minds, getting back to the IT rights issue. I remember when MST was at one stage a few years ago reported to be being courted by a Chinese consortium wanting to buy the technology. I'm pretty sure it was a media beat-up (stock price spiked predictably, ASX posted a "please explain" and MST top people immediately denied it etc) but I also remember the government chiming into the argument at the time stating they would block such a sale.
I wonder if the present set of noteholders gettign ready to divvy up the IP would also consitiute a threat to national interest and be regarded in a similar light.
Would be interesting to see that scenario play out !
And as far as "imaginary weapons", they've been certifying the 3GL and Maul (hence the recent costs) so the initial weapons are not really imaginary ..... just not in mass production yet (darned close though). Redback and Firestorm less so but still prototyped.
(And Yes, as I'm a geek in the defence industry living in Brisbane, I would have liked to work for MST too ..... all I needed was a lotto win first so my family and I could afford to eat while doing so ;-)
(sigh!)
