    It is a shame that so much money that is given to charity is soaked up in admin costs but the simple fact is they can't be efficiently run by volunteers all the time.

    As I would expect most here are in the higher tax bracket their donation will most likely receive a 48.5% tax concession.

    There has been no bigger world tragedy yet we see comments like the ones from Y. It saddens me to know their is such ignorance and lack of compassion in Australians.

    I reckon I have paid around 2k in brokerage fees so far this year and if I can't afford to donate 50% of that then I am no better than Y.

    Mother Theresa once said “most of us will never do great things, but all of us can do small things in a great way”. Isn’t this a time for all peoples everywhere to do just that?

    Give what you can but give with compassion and an open heart.

    I spent my honey moon on Patong beach 18 months ago and the devastation and loss of life is truly heartbreaking.
