Need the coin to progress the app dev at a decent rate, but don't necessarily have to list to raise the funds. Funds can be a placement, conv. note, or..... Many companies have raised funds without being listed, Facebook, Skype, Twitter, Linked In, WhatsApp, and lots of other (smaller) tech companies we've never heard of, etc...... listing is an exit strategy for some of the earlier investors. Sometimes being listed makes it easier to raise funds however. Many prefer to invest in an IPO as it has an exit strategy ready.
