By then the best fixed rate opportunity will have long been lost. Even if variable rates move down a bit more you really aren't going to lose that much. Fixed rates give peace of mind by fixing your biggest ownership cost. I will definitely be fixing my next loan, but as always I you should have a loan on variable that you can pay down.
