Given how our participation rates actually hide the true unemployment rate I would say that puts us on pretty level footing. Sugar coat the result all you want with theories and fluff on how rates are calculated, but yesterday confirmed all I needed to know that we did not touch the bottom during the GFC like the rest of the developed economies.
