From Buddhist philosophy, there's no such an omnipotent being as God.
The Buddha preaches that everything happens when conditions are met, including human lives. There's no single entity controlling the rise and demise of phenomina. Instead our fortunes and woes are determined by past and present actions - verbal, mental and physical.
There are deities, however, superior beings who reside in realms of greater wealth and enjoyment. But all beings are subject to the cycle of birth, ageing and death unless one achieves true liberation, also known as Nibbana.
