If someone lied to you about something fairly important say for instance when a friend was in hospital but it turned out the friend wasn't in hospital when they said.
And if this someone also made a fairly outrageous comment about another friend who was leaving if a certain outcome didn't happen would you be less inclined to the believe the second statement if the first statement can be shown to be a lie?
