I don't understand the theory behind it but there was without a doubt games being played. Every time I placed a buy order suddenly 2 or 3 more buys would join my offer as well as 1 ahead of my mine. If I withdrew my buy offer those additional buys would disappear too.
I also happened to be watching the after close bidding and saw a whole heap being dumped at 26c - I suspect there were day traders closing their positions.
