Agreed Kinsella,
Both ABS and AFG were two of the most recommended stocks last year and could do no wrong.
I bought but was always concerned about the extent of ABS agressive buying spree and borrowings. Couldnt figure why the analysts liked it so much and eventually got out with a smallish loss but not as bad if I had of held on.
Have seen it so many times whenever an aussie company tries to move in to corner the US market and takes on huge debt. Come in spinner. CNP and NAB were other examples.
