Just received a letter in the mail regarding Telstra's new charges:

- line rental increase from 24.90 to $26.50 per month with calls decreasing from 18.5 cents to 17.5 cents. That means you must make 160 calls per month to see a benefit.

- No more neighbourhood calls.

- Flat rate for mobile calls which has no benefit.

- Call connection fee from home phone to mobile, STD or international increased from 30 to 33 cents per call.

- Handset rental has increased by 25 cents per month.

- Features such as messagebank and call number display have decreased, obviously to get more people using them.

It amazes me how their fees keep increasing and their service keeps getting worse.

I know, I know, must keep the shareholders happy..and with Telstra's share price performance of late, doesn't look like they have much of a choice.

I don't mind price increases but they should be accompanied by better service as well.
