    lord,within that 6 year period, you can live in it, then rent it out and another 6 year period begins......my understanding was this law enacted to cover all people who are posted to different locations...........and the ATO always gives examples of people being posted overseas.....rather than moving interstate....
    if this situation were to apply to you, you would need proof that you resided in the residence........for example gas and electricity bills for the property, probably a change of car registration.......because some people would never want to pay cgt, they would try to avoid the rules......

    some might also need to know that GST applies to a sale of property, unless it has been rented out for 5 years.........or used as the principal place of residence...that applies to props built since gst commenced, .....applies to one of my props
