I've had a few over the years. I started with goldfish for my daughter. Had one for over 8 years when friend looking after it thought it was lonely, bought another from the markets and it died. I loved scaping the tanks with plants. Was so good to watch but still a lot of work. The easiest I found to keep was an Oscar. Had him for years but had to keep buying bigger tanks. Never wanted a saltwater also heard they were too finicky.
