I recollect very vividly, some years ago, when the President of a social club, who was a teacher, asked me to check her annual report to the club. I was appalled at her numerous spelling mistakes and her even more dismal ignorance of simple grammar. And it is not the first time I have encountered such poor English from teachers.But I certainly did not expect it from a person whose prime responsibilty, for which she was more than adequately paid, was to teach children the lingua franca!
Her conversations usually involved her numerous holidays!
