The mill is just part of the process and if that process was sustainable and not destructive I would have no problem with the mill except for it's location and doubt about the operator's integrity for maintaining standards.
At the root of this is the fact that the soil is being used to produce a massive crop in a short time and will be repeated until the soil is depleted. The fertility of the soil is being converted into paper. It's a commercial operation that has a shocking record of destructive practices to create plantations.
To justify this because other countries are even worse is just an excuse to continue to exchange complex eco systems and soil fertility for short term financial gain.
We simply don't have the time left to carry on like this.
