Hewson was commenting on how parties won't win by bringing up constant negativity about each other, as a campaign.
Perhpas an awareness is developing as to how much this has been happening and how it is more brazen nowadays.
Thinkers won't tolerate such strategy...the outspoken will utilise it and listeners will mostly switch off, as it all blends to become one big tit-tat campaign and that is quite boring as it is normally based only on opinoin, not math, fact or policy.
I liked TV's balancing act, where its obvious that everything needs to be taklen into account, but to put your finger on one thing and to get personal about it is just not mature enough for a discussion on such an important topic IMO.
A lot of people are getting sick of the mud slingers and the awareness just might sink a party.
