I have a question to everyone. When shorters borrowed shares from a broker and sold the shares, who own the shares? I mean who is entitled to subscribe those new shares at 26 cents.
Sometimes the brokers lease the shares to the shorters, the original owners may not know. Is that right? Then they may not own the share and not able to participate.
How about the ones who bought the shorted shares? Do they own it?
If both the original owners and the ones bought from the shorters also own the shares, then a single shares will be owned and counted twice. Please clarify.
