I tend to think black correlates with the fear surrounding vampires, vampires were known to come out at night , night time is dark , dark correlates to black. The first mention of vampires dates back to the 17th century. vampires also correlate with dark magic and voodoo. hence the negative connotation surrounding black. I also had a black Labrador who went by the name jack, often i would yell black jack or blackey jackey when it was his dinner time. Also if vampires still walk among us they have obviously changed there eating habits and stopped feeding on human blood, maybe vampires have been misunderstood. Thoughts?
