You've pretty much nailed the problems facing SYR, but there is hope too. The loan buys them years of time to wait for a) energy costs to rise making China graphite too expensive and/or b) US tariffs vs China to start (hopefully sooner rather than later) making China graphite more costly (but exempting SYR graphite) c) China stops the export of cheap graphite to 'counter' US tariffs (great if this happens!!) d) Tesla and/or some other major player commits to SYR graphite as a long term strategic move, and to secure supply ahead of others.
If any of these things occur, SYR SP will be ???? higher.
