A second fridge in the garage costs about $300 per annum to run. (1.4 tonnes of GHG) ---------------------------------- Turning off the fridge in the garage may save you $300 but it won't reduce the CO2 emissions from the power station.
I could be wrong here and I stand to be corrected but it is my understanding the the coal fired boiler at the power station has to run continiously and the generators are cut in and out according to demand, so coals is being burnt whether you fridge is turned on or off.
