It all comes down to the science and commercialisation of it.
They haven't exactly set the world on fire with the Kingfish - still struggling after about 10 years - of what is a similar 'closing the loop' initiative as the Bluey's. Latest announcement re Kingy's is a failure of basic farming practice. I mean, as it turns out they didn't know how many fish per pen they had - i.e. they had less - how can you effectively feed them under that circumstance. Yet to be announced is the higher than expected FCR as a result of this - i.e. a retraction of their recent improved FCR mantra and they still haven't a handle on optimal feed rates.
Some of you are talking about bluefin commercialisation being a fate accompli and the quota reduction affecting this coys SP positively etc etc.
If it takes >10 years to get on top of Kingfish it will take longer to get on top of Bluefin - once they can produce commercial quantities of undeformed juvenile stock. How are they going?
Its a long term R&D project funded by you for and on behalf of the Stehr's. No amount of hot shot corporate recruitment can change the science. The deeply discounted Cap raising is telling indeed.
