At least under the previous govts wages did actually rise"


From the ABS stats, I compiled the following graph, which shows real wage inflation (i.e., wage growth less inflation) under various government terms in office:



The key take-aways from the data are self-explanatory, but its standout features are the:

1.) unambiguous success of the Howard era in terms of delivering real wage growth,

and

2.) pickle that the Albanese government finds itself, a full two years into its term. (Little wonder the PM has convened caucus... those rather large bars below the x-axis tell a pretty sobering story).
