My point is that I think all such professional investors have fled the scene. There are none left, to judge by the recent conspicuous reneging on promises to buy a major new issue. Surely it is months since there was an actual new issue?

You can't blame these professional investors. After all, even SIS as the underwriter has not shown its face to pay up, after the reneging. Presumably there is disillusion because of the stagnation or collapse of a succession of previously promised ventures. Therefore GCN's credibility over the newly promised ventures in China is shot to pieces.
