Dear Sir BERONG NICKEL PROJECT, PHILIPPINES – UPDATE The Company wishes to advise that the contract to supply direct shipping saprolite ore to Nippon Metals and Alloy Inc of Japan has been upgraded from 300,000 tonnes to 350,000 tonnes per annum of ore grading not less than 2.1% Ni. As a result of delays experienced in obtaining the licences and permits necessary before mining can commence, and the imminent onset of the wet season, the first shipment of ore is being targeted for December 2005. The contract with Nippon Metals and Alloy Inc is for a term of five years. The base price of the ore shall be FOB Berong Port in Palawan on a dry basis and be equivalent to 23% of the quoted price of nickel on the London Metals Exchange market. Discussions continue with another Japanese smelter for the sale of 300,000 tonnes of direct shipping ore. The smelter has now requested a 6,000 tonne bulk sample for testing, prior to finalising the supply contract. Expressions of interest have been received from major companies to participate in the development of the extensive nickel resources totalling approximately 275 million tonnes of 1.3% Ni and 0.074% Co.
