I dont think it was the shortIng itself that caused the unusual action In SP last week. The volume Is too low. I thInk It was selling into volume provIded by a positive announcement. It would be interesting to know who It was, but I'm not sure it's not anything more than just interesting. What does need some explanation in my opinion is who the shorter/s were? Was this masterful piece of trading where they quickly assessed what was going on and predicted the price would retreat to 40c and short sold a few shares to make some quick coin, or did they know in advance what was going to happen. I wonder if ASIC looks out for this sort of thing?
