very reasonable question, however I will add my 2 cents as finance is my area. I'm working in an organization right now with an annual expenditure of about 100m. We let our CFO go a few months ago and there has been no rush to fill the position, it hasn't even been advertised. Our financial controller is punching above weight and running the show, and we have also engaged a small consulting firm to provide some services to us.
So I am not very concerned by this in the short term.
