IMO the PM is just getting a pass tick in exceptionally trying conditions. Prior to COVID an appalling fail, seems ridiculous now that their focus was on Union bashing, gender toilets and rorts not so long ago. We are seeing something quite unique now, the libs in power during genuine financial duress, no longer the kids thrown the keys to have a drive in the car park at Bunnings after closing. All their rhetoric over decades about being better financial managers is now in play.
In a political environment they created themselves not one will remember or care about the causes of the looming recession. They gave less than zero breathing space to labor when they were at the helm in trying times. IF the libs can keep us out of recession and how they do it will be all that matters, otherwise the brand is forever damaged- to use language they understand.
