As I recall Peter did not earn what he should have in a previous enterprise. He believes/knows his tech is like nothing else on the planet. Combining these two factors then I feel if he's ready to cash in then I would be.
I've always felt Peter wants to get the value his technology and capabilities deserves. He's not greedy, put simply he is changing the way we will live our lives, that is worth tens of $ billions.
