gave stefanis a TU. I agree that the losers will be Aldi and IGA. The small corner-stores have just about disappeared. And yes... this powerful duopoly will control prices. Only Bob Katter seems concerned. The rising AUD allows these giants to have a 'price war' esp with imported goods. Wouldn't surprise me if they actually maintain margin even on some discounted items. Woolies new CEO knows the business backwards. Surely Greg Foran's workplace agreement prevents him from moving to the opposition?
I am still in Cape Town. How much publicity is this 'price war' getting in Oz? Are shoppers responding?
