But in defendce of those who took the time to attend the AGM it wouldn't have killed management to have addressed the shareholders even if it was to tell them that they weren't going to be fielding questions. Rather than head for the doors and the cakes & biscuits.

Management love AGMs because they get to vote in their own remuneration packages. It's all about more shares & money for them - nothing more. I've been to a few AGMs and have more often than not left believing that those sitting out the front are Bandits in suits rather than management. So I don't bother attending these days.

And another reason they head for the doors is so they are not confronted with the situation where they can't answer tuff questions. My uncle is as astute as any going around and when the suits used to see him at a particular company AGM every year they would break into a sweat.

So to those who attended, don't take it personally, that's just normal for the vast majority of AGMs.
