Why is it that super capacitors can't replace batteries??
The super in super capacitor is to do with capacity.. a small capacitor that is used in a general electrical circuits, are measured in micro or pico farads.. a super capacitor is measured in farads.. hence the capacity increase and the name change, super...
Now.. the increase in capacity of energy in a supercapacitor to be the same as, or greater than a standard battery means that these can replace a standard battery with the benefit of charging in seconds.. and without the instability of chemical changes (as in a battery) due to super caps being a static charge between plates, they can be charges until they die, and that is normally thousands of charges, as opposed to hundreds..
I am happy to be picked up on anything I have missed or anything I have gotten a little incorrect.. (most should be right)..
