Molan is just peddling his area of interest.
In a real war, if our allies don't come to our aid, having an extra 30, 60 or 90 days of fuel wont help.
Same with missiles. How long do you think our planes and ships will last?
A stockpile of missiles wont help when we run out of delivery systems.
This is just a means of funnelling more tax payer dollars into an area where he wields influence.
I don't rule out that we may need to increase our stockpiles of some strategic resources, but only on the basis of what is required to fight with our allies. Not without them. Without them we are toast anyway.
There is only one strategic deterrent that a minnow like us could possess that would be of any use if we stand alone, and there doesn't seem to be any appetite for that.
