Rock Fish, Some of gtg's current licenses include: Perlegen $1.3M, Myriad A$1.5M, Pyrosequencing A$4.2M, and Orchid A$3.2M. Applera is the biggest bio so far with gene testing a major portion of their business. Expect their license + royalties to be substantial and the settlement to include legal costs and perhaps punitive damages. But the major benefit to gtg will be the message this sends to the 2000+ other bios in gtg's books as requiring gene licenses. Looks like the sp is holding well in wait of a settlement announcement. IMO, any settlement announcement could just as likely occur tomorrow as in 2 weeks. But when this occurs, we can expect the sp to go above 75c. IMO the best license deal for the sp would not be the amount but rather a colaborative deal involving the sharing of equipment, resources and expertise as this indicates the matter is truely resolved.
