I've been able to buy stocks at mid point (MP) from time to time through my commsec platform, by choosing "at market" instead of hitting the offer price (and visa versa). I think it depends if a seller is OK to sell at MP at the time you load your buy as "at market" and the 2 coincide, the trade goes through at MP ...... I'm not sure that's how it works though
