New battery systems are going to favour Lithium in my opinion.
Some have suggested up 20% of households with solar panels will take up battery storage in the first full year of availability.
In the modern age , old battery designs will not make it, users will go for Lithium and Vanadium if they can get more commercialised on a domestic level.
Unlikely to be subsidies on battery storage at this stage. However power companies are desperate to get in on the action and will offer their own incentives and terms.
In the meantime two coal fired power stations in W.A looking at closure as the take-up of solar in the west means they are simply not needed any-more.
Anyone that doubts the future of Lithium is not a very informed investor imo
