I wonder if you might be a bit pessimistic about the legislative impact though. The legislation hasn't been written let alone introduced to Parliament, let alone passed. And if it is introduced in its current form, it is not guaranteed to pass if the opposition doesn't support it. The final product may be substantially different from what has been proposed so far.
Others have speculated that CCV and others will find other ways to make money (loopholes?) within any new regulatory regime.
I agree, however, that there is likely to be a lot of volatility ahead as we witness the fallout from this one-two punch.
