re: u3o8 hits the boards running U308 spokesperson Mike Joyce said the successful listing proved there was still a strong appetite for new uranium floats.
Mr Joyce said the success of U308 was also attributable to its strong portfolio of projects located in Western Australia, Queensland and South Australia, many of which host known uranium mineralisation.
"I think it is really a high quality portfolio ... even though it's taken us a couple of years to get these projects to market we actually started acquiring these projects in 2004," he said.
"There is not a lot of known uranium mineralisation in Australia because there has been virtually no exploration for uranium since the 1970's."
While many of U308's projects are in the anti-uranium mining state of Western Australia, Mr Joyce said he was encouraged by federal opposition leader Kim Beazley's recent comments suggesting a change in policy was due.
"I think if federal Labor moves to change their policy then the states will probably fall into line," Mr Joyce said.
"We think there is a very good chance there will be a change in attitudes but obviously I'm not a politician."
The Dawson Well project will receive the most funds in the first two years, with more than $1 million dedicated to it, while the Ashburton project has been allocated $740,000.
Should be interesting tomorrow and in the next weeks ahead......:)
