I stumbled across HC looking for info on LEG. Found plenty on HC. A guy at work was spruiking leg at the time and I bought some lego. Carried on reading HC and buying lego for a year as it fell. Lego expired worthless and I lost about $5k. That was my entire portfolio.
I then bought some HOT in the HC float (HOT must be the best ASX ticker ever). Made a decent profit as it was bought out by Bourse Data (later swallowed (and re-gurgitated) by St George Bank).
I made some expensive mistakes in those early days, like everyone else I guess.
Who was the guy that kept posting unintelligible drivel on ERG? Was a sad case. Told us his life story and how he sunk his share of his parents house into ERG when it was $1+ (pre-consolidation) and couldn't pay his dentist, etc.
There's certainly been some characters over the years.
