Happened to attend the WHSP shareholder meeting yesterday. Robert Millner the mutual chair of NHC/WHSP/BKI/etc made some impromptu remarks.
He was asked "Now that New Ackland is fully approved when will you start operations?"
He said that while they did get the "final" approval for the water rights, that they were waiting for one additional "final" approval directly from the Queensland Premier. He did not further clarify exactly what that meant and whether it is formal or informal other than to say that they have been waiting to hear from her.
He said that they have been working for 14 years total to try and get the mine reopened. He went on to say that all of the machinery is there and is ready to go and that they could start right away once "approved". He said that he hopes to be "scratching the ground" within three months.
I had been wondering why they did not just start after the water approval and this might explain it.
