There is no way of knowing if .004 would have been breached given the same set of circumstances but without a consolidation. Same goes for the options.

You've provided no evidence that consolidations are intrinsically bearish. The SP could fall a thousand times for a thousand companies but that doesn't make it fact, as there are so many variables. In this instance, record low oil prices contributed significantly.

I'm not sure how many times I have to repeat that it'll take time, and that calling the consolidation a failure after a couple of months displays both a lack of patience and lack of understanding of the current state of the world economy.
