On one hand they're saying words like "lockdown" should not be used because they cause anxiety, then they're running a timeline that must be causing anxiety by telling people they'll be unable to socialise for 6 months. Does the timeline have any basis to it other than a political purpose of being one that they should comfortably beat?

I have wondered the same thing Reaper11. I can find no rationale for the six month timeline.
And six months under the present arrangements will be pretty hard to take.
Perhaps they expect to be able to lift these restrictions earlier and then claim what a good job they did.
