debono, there is simply no one in government capable of explaining let alone selling the policy to the electorate (just look at the lousy job Penny Wong did last term and that was when everything was going their way)...they need better spruikers and they need to remove all the grey areas which create a void which Abbott fills with fear and doubt...even the mining tax was a good idea if it could have been reworked a bit and explained. Little wonder Abbott is like a kid in a toy store as this government plays to all his strengths.
ETS was probably the best model to create change and I doubt the sky would have fallen in.
