I like a flutter like anyone else, be it horses, dogs, pokies, casino I've done them all BUT every time it was for pleasure and entertainment knowing in the long run the house would win so I would limit my exposure to what I could afford to LOSE! Generally not much more than $50 or so. I'll never be a sore loser because I go into speculative risks understanding I expect to lose! How can you be a sore loser when you know you can't beat the house? Best advice stay of the house before you get a sore head.

But when it comes to investing and trading I am far more rational and cutthroat and know in the long run the sophisticated investors/ traders (not mug punters) will also win. They have far more advantages at their disposal than me. They are covered by big brokering houses, institutions, knowledge, experience, research and now algorithms that leave me for dust, you can't mess with that advantage.

I'll profit from smaller trades, smaller margins that gets me enough to live on but nothing more than that.

And I always wonder with all that knowledge that they have none have bothered to tinker with ADO? It remains the realm of the little retail holder being sucked dry by every CR, rights issue, to service wages and salaries, that's why I have never participated in these for the last 5 years. And no major holder is willing to take a flutter, that's instructive within itself.
