just remember those so called unfortunate sellers were once buyers, now I would say a high percentage of those buyers consider themselves both unfortunate buyers and unfortunate sellers.
The object of investing is to make money, so yes a lot of investors over the years may have made money, some may carry a paper gain but others have loss a lot of money or carry a paper loss.
